Comments
No scientific evidence to indicate a hunt will reduce conflict with woodchucks , the authors’ stated goal. Bill is unnecessary: homeowners and occupants already have the right to hunt and trap woodchucks and others can get a permit from the DNR.

Comments
Woodchucks are plentiful in Wisconsin but often cause damage to structures by their burrowing. Making the animal a game species will allow an impacted landowner to have a hunter or trapper harvest the nuisance animal. Woodchucks are very edible.
