AB 165 would undermine the effectiveness of the ban on displaying phosphorus fertilizers on store shelves. Wisconsin residents support protecting our lakes and streams from phosphorus run-off that spurs the growth of weeds and smelly algae.

The Bill as amended will allow for the retail display of starter fertilizer which is needed in establishing new grass seed. Starter fertilizer is allowed under the law, but currently retailers can't display it; this will not weaken the law.
