ATU 998 will advocate on behalf of its members and reach out to the other ATU workers from across the State, and will work closely with state and local transit agencies to secure additional program support and funding.
Lobbying Interests:
To advocate for additional statevfinancing in future budgets for the expansion of public transit bus routes around this state, work with the WDOT, the entire Executive Branch and all members of the Legislature. ATU supports the creation of Regional Transit Authorities to connect communities, and to renew the push for uniform security for public transit. ATU Local 998 will work closely with private providers who have transit contracts and devote time in renewing past transportation industry partners and vendors. ATU will establish priorities focusing on the workforce, elderly and disabled and the growing numbers of our non driving population.
