The Arthritis Foundation works within the interest areas of public health and chronic disease prevention. Our financial support is derived through various fundraising events, private and corporate philanthropic donors and major gifts.
Lobbying Interests:
The Arthritis Foundation advocates for access to the full range of treatment for all people with all types of arthritis; supports access to a full range of treatment administration that is suited for each individual patient and their needs; and supports the physician's right to choose the appropriate therapy for his/her patients. We are opposed to any policy that interferes with the medical decision-making process of the doctor-patient relationship. Areas of focused attention include: Bio-similar substitution notification, formulary transparency, narrow provider networks/network adequacy, prior authorization process, out of pocket medication costs, step therapy/first fail and research funding.
