This bill is necessary to get a basic awareness and understanding of dyslexia to teachers and administrators in a short amount of time. Teachers ARE NOT taught this in college and have a general misunderstanding of the characteristics of dyslexia.

Students with dyslexia need to be identified and prescribed the correct treatment within a school district. Currently school districts do not identify or name dyslexia; nor do they prescribe the optimal treatment plan for the students' success.

Instead of the semi-annual report the organization has submitted a written pledge not to spend more than $500 per year on lobbying.
