Young adults who are charged with a crime, even if it is later dismissed have a record on CCAP forever. This jeopardizes future employment and advancement, potential internships and ability to even rent apartments.Conversely, a guilty person who serves their sentence and/or pays a fine, ends up better off by having their case/charge removed from CCAP upon sentence completion. Expungement should favor the innocent as much as it does the guilty which is why current law needs to be changed.
Lobbying Interests:
Change state law so that all information related to a criminal case of an individual who was under the age of 25 at the time an alleged offense occurred, can have all information related to their case removed from CCAP.
